  • Who should use a First Sentinel system?
    • Anyone who….
      • lives alone or is left alone for extended periods of time by a caregiver.
      • uses a mobility assisted device.
      • has limitations in performing an ADL.
      • lives in an unsafe neighborhood, feels unsafe at home, or travels into unsafe areas.
      • is more than 65 years of age.
      • has sensory deficits.
      • has a history of falling.
      • has been hospitalized within the last 12 months
      • is physically frail.
      • feels more safe with the very best personal emergency response system
    • Why do you require customers to prepay for the year?
      • There are a variety of benefits that come with requiring customers to prepay for the year. Doing so affords our customers to flexibility of using their credit cards to pay on their own terms, often with no money down. Across 12 months, the upfront payment amounts to a highly competitive monthly fee of $27.95. Furthermore, by requiring our customers to pay for the year upfront, we can cover the shipping and tax of every system with provide, as well as at 100% product warranty. After the first year, our customers they have the opportunity to proceed on a month-to-month basis, if they prefer.
    • How does my At Home or Go Anywhere system work?
      • Simply press the button on a pendant or base station and you will be immediately connect with our 24/7/365 call center. Our operator will speak with you, determine what type of situation you are in,  and the make the appropriate call to get you help.
    • What if I cannot speak after I press the button?
      • Unless directed to do otherwise by you in advance, Emergency Response personnel will be dispatched to give you aid.
    • What is the average response time?
      • The average response time of our call center is 20 seconds. The average response time of PD or Emergency Response personnel varies but they both give these calls a  high priority.
    • What type of agreement am I signing?
      • Included in your terms and conditions, your agreement is one year in length, and renews monthly thereafter.
    • What happens after one year?
      • At the end of the year First Sentinel will automatically bill you for the next year on your credit card. We can also convert to monthly billing at that time if that is your request.
    • What happens if my device no longer functions?
      • Give us a call. If we cannot help you through the issue, simply return the medical alarm device to First Sentinel and we will send to you an operational device at no charge.
    • How is my At Home system installed?
      • Your home safety alert system is programmed by First Sentinel personnel prior to sending to you. You then need only a phone jack (unless you have a cellular or mobile device) and electrical outlet to plug your system into.  With all systems you should call us to test your system once activated.
    • What happens to my At Home system if I move?
      • Simply take your home safety alert system with you. Contact us with your new address and other information and you will be online again.
    • Does my personal safety system operate anywhere in the US?
      • Yes it does!
    • How will emergency personnel get into my home?
      • If we have to dispatch Emergency Response or PD personnel to your home, we will also contact personal emergency contacts that could hopefully open a locked door.
      • You could also call us and order a First Sentinel Lock Box and we could then give your Lock Box combination to a responding agent and prevent an entry that causes damage.
    • Does an At Home system work outside of my house?
      • Your pendant has a long range of 500 feet. This can be affected by construction type, environment, and other conditions. Test your home safety alert system around your home to get a real sense of your situation.
    • How long will it take for me to receive my system?
      • We will complete processing and programming within 24 hours of receiving your order. Your unit should arrive within 4 to 5 business days thereafter.
    • How can I change my critical information?
      • Simply call us at (800) 488-5171 and we can make any changes with you. Many changes can be made by you directly utilizing your First Sentinel Customer Portal.
    • Who am I reaching when I push my button?
      • A fully trained member of our call center team.
    • What happens if I drop my At Home pendant in the bath tub or shower?
      • Your At Home pendant is waterproof, and can be utilized in the bath or shower.
    • How often should I test my system?
      • At minimum, you should test your system each month. Don’t forget to call first!
    • What happens if I activate my system by mistake?
      • No problem. Simply let our call center agent know that you made a mistake when you are contacted online.
    • Can I provide a loved one with a system and have it billed to me?
      • Yes.  That is a common arrangement for a First Sentinel system.
